The CBI has registered a case against Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot’s brother Agrasen Gehlot and 14 others in connection with alleged corruption in export of fertilizers for farmers and subsidy on it, and Agrasen’s Jodhpur residence and three others. Raids were conducted on 16 other premises in the states.
He said that the CBI has made 15 persons and companies, including Gehlot, accused in the FIR. He said that over 60 CBI officers raided more than 17 places in Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal in connection with the case.
A team of CBI officers also reached Agrasen Gehlot’s residence in Mandore, Jodhpur for raids.
The CBI has said that the case pertains to alleged corruption in the import of Potash Murate (MOP), also known as Potassium Chloride. It was to be distributed to farmers at about 80 per cent subsidy given by the government.
