The government has sacked three Indian Air Force officers in connection with the accidental release of BrahMos missile towards Pakistan. The incident took place in March this year. The Indian Air Force said in a statement that the BrahMos missile firing on March 9 was an accident.

The Court of Inquiry found three officers guilty of violating standard operating procedure. These officers have been primarily held responsible for the accident and their services have been canceled by the Central Government with immediate effect. The Indian Air Force has said that these officers have been ordered to be fired.

The Central Government had taken serious note of the incident of accidental firing of BrahMos missile towards Pakistan and in March this year ordered the High Level Court of Inquiry.
