Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Shubhendu Adhikari, was taken into custody on Monday while trying to go to Santragachi during the BJP’s march to the state secretariat ‘Nabanna’.
BJP leader and MP Locket Chatterjee and party leader Rahul Sinha were also detained and taken to a jail van. They were stopped in front of the Police Training School near the ‘Second Hooghly Bridge’ near the Secretariat.
BJP supporters from across the state started reaching Kolkata and neighboring Howrah on Tuesday morning to take part in the ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ against the alleged corruption of TMC in the state.
Dilip Ghosh said before taking out the march, TMC government is scared of mass rebellion. Even if they try to stop our protest march, we will protest peacefully. The state administration will be responsible for any untoward incident.
