Voting is ongoing for all 90 seats of the Haryana Assembly. Voting started today in a single phase at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM. More than 20.3 million voters will decide the political fate of 1,031 candidates. A total of 20,632 polling stations have been established across the state.
According to the Election Commission, after voting began at 7 AM, by 9 AM the polling percentages were as follows: 11.87% in Ambala district, 9.72% in Bhiwani district, 9.8% in Charkhi Dadri, 8.82% in Faridabad, 11.81% in Fatehabad, 6.10% in Gurugram, 8.49% in Hisar, 8.43% in Jhajjar, 12.71% in Jind, 9.54% in Kaithal, 11.10% in Karnal, 10.57% in Kurukshetra, 11.51% in Mahendragarh, 10.64% in Mewat, 12.54% in Palwal, 4.08% in Panchkula, 7.49% in Panipat, 9.27% in Rewari, 10.76% in Rohtak, 9.87% in Sirsa, 7.98% in Sonipat, and 9.27% in Yamunanagar district.
They stated that if a voter’s name is on the electoral roll but they do not have a voter ID card, they can show any one of the 12 alternative identification documents as per the Election Commission’s guidelines, such as an Aadhar card, MGNREGA job card, driving license, PAN card, Indian passport, etc., to cast their vote.
