US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. During this, she was presented with Ganga water brought from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. PM Modi gave Gabbard a brief information about the Maha Kumbh and told that 66 crore people took a dip in the Triveni Sangam during this event. He also mentioned that he too took a dip in the Triveni Sangam. In return, Gabbard presented a Tulsi garland to PM Modi.

Earlier, Gabbard also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The two leaders underlined the importance of strategic security, which is an important pillar of the comprehensive global strategic cooperation between India and the US. They reviewed the progress made in military exercises, strategic engagement, integration of defence industrial supply chains, information-sharing cooperation, and especially in the maritime sector. The Defence Minister also highlighted the anti-India activities of the Khalistani organisation SFJ, which is banned in India.

Gabbard also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, discussing intelligence sharing and security cooperation. Gabbard is on a two-and-a-half-day visit to India as part of a multi-national trip to the Indo-Pacific region. She said she will visit Japan, Thailand and India and spend some time in France on her way back to the US.
