Election Commission rejected the allegations of RJD leader

The Election Commission of India has completely rejected the allegations made by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in the case of a video related to Darbhanga. Yadav had circulated a video on social media accusing the BJP’s woman district president of influencing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of the voter list.

The video in question showed local BJP leader Kavita Kumari alias Sapna Bharti at a polling booth where SIR work was in progress. The video maker Jamal Hasan alleged that Kavita Kumari was trying to commit irregularities in the voter list. He also alleged that BLOs (Block Level Officers) were not visiting voters’ residences and BJP leaders were harassing voters.

This video was also broadcast by other senior leaders of Congress and RJD, in which questions were raised on the functioning of the Election Commission.

However, a detailed investigation conducted by the Commission revealed that the claims made in the video were false and misleading. According to the investigation report of the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, Kavita Kumari had gone to the polling booth to submit the counting forms and necessary documents for herself and her family members. No irregularities were committed by her.

The investigation also revealed that the video producer Jamal Hassan and Kavita Kumari have political rivalry from the Middle East, due to which this misleading video was circulated on social media. The Commission clarified that no improper action was taken by the BLO and all allegations of bias are baseless.
