The latest results of the Bihar Assembly elections have revealed interesting contests in several key constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a lead in several key constituencies, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has also made a strong presence.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has won the Tarapur seat . Another Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is leading in Lakhisarai by over 21,200 votesover Congress candidate Amresh Kumar .

Maithili Thakur of the BJP was declared the winner in the Alinagar seat . In Siwan , the BJP’s Mangal Pandey defeated RJD candidate Awadhesh Bihari Choudhary by over 9,300 votes .

Former Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav defeated RJD’s Ritlal Rai in the Danapur seat by over 20,000 votes . Similarly, Nitish Kumar’s minister Shravan Kumar defeated Congress candidate Kushalendra Kumar by over 33,000 votes in the Nalanda seat .

Congress state president Rajesh Kumar suffered a major defeat in the Kutumba (SC)seat, where he lost to Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) ‘s Lalan Ram by over 21,500 votes .

Tejashwi Yadav , the Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial face, won a landslide victory in the Raghopur seat , defeating Satish Kumar of the BJP by over 17,800 votes . His brother Tej Pratap Yadav suffered a setback in the Mahua seat —he trailed both the LJP and RJD candidates and finished in third place.

In Raghunathpur seat , RJD’s Osama Shahab has a lead of more than 12,000 votesover the JDU candidate .

Khesari Lal Yadav (Shatrughan Yadav), a film-turned-politician, failed this time. He trailed the BJP’s Chhoti Kumari by over 6,000 votes .

Whereas Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party has not won any seat.

The latest results clearly show that a fierce competition is continuing between the NDA and the RJD in Bihar politics, and this time too, the voters have made local issues and development works the decisive basis.
