MUMBAI: Foreign registration authorities issued a formal notice to depart India to film actor Imran Khan, nephew of actor Aamir Khan, following his involvement in a Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) protest gathering. The administrative directive follows regulatory inquiries into alleged violations of entry visa conditions and regulatory guidelines governing foreign nationals.
Under prevailing immigration frameworks and foreign national registration rules, individuals holding foreign travel documents are legally restricted from taking part in domestic political rallies, organized agitations, or public demonstrations. Following the actor’s documented presence at the Mumbai gathering, law enforcement agencies examined his residency permissions, culminating in formal directions requiring him to leave the country.
Legal representatives for the actor are assessing standard statutory options and examining regulatory remedies regarding the compliance directive. While the notice has prompted significant commentary across social and media sectors, authorities maintained that foreign registration acts and visa regulations remain applicable across all categories of foreign passport holders.
