Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi was suspended on Wednesday on the orders of President Ram Nath Kovind who has also directed an inquiry against him over allegations of dereliction of duty, according to officials of the Ministry of Education (MoE). Security forces have busted a terrorist hideout during a forest area in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in recovery of a cache of arms and ammunition, a senior policeman said on Wednesday. The hideout was unearthed during an overnight joint operation by police and Rashtriya Rifles within the forest area of Kalaban in Mendhar sector, Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Ramesh Angral said. He said the search of the hideout led to the recovery of an AK 56 rifle, three magazines, 793 rounds, a binocular, a radio, a Pakistan-make pistol with a magazine and a solar charger.

At least eight people were killed and more than 110 injured in an explosion on Tuesday morning at the Jamia Zuberia madressah in Peshawar’s Dir Colony. According to Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Mohammad Asim, four of the deceased were students between the ages of 20 to 25. “The blast took place in the madressah during a Quran class.
