The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet project, which is scheduled to be completed by December 2023, may fail to satisfy its deadline thanks to the coronavirus pandemic that has led to delays in opening tenders and land acquisition, officials said. The National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has already acquired 63 per cent of the land for the project — about 77% land in Gujarat, 80% in Dadar Nagar Haveli and 22% in Maharashtra. The bodies of two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were recovered on Saturday from Kishanganga river near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district. The two militants are believed to have drowned in the river near Malangam Tulail village in Gurez sector while trying to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), security officials said.
