The death rate in coronavirus-ravaged New York, the worst-hit in the US, has dropped with 367 deaths on Saturday compared with 437 on Friday, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday. A 49-year-old man who was administered convalescent plasma therapy at a private hospital in the national capital has fully recovered and was discharged on Sunday. The man had tested positive on April 4 and was admitted at a hospital in Delhi’s Saket area with moderate symptoms and a history of fever and respiratory issues, the same day. His condition deteriorated during the next few days and he soon required external oxygen to maintain saturation. The Uttar Pradesh government has begun bringing back State’s native workers stranded elsewhere in the country amid the COVID 19 lockdown and has ensured the return of 2,224 of them in the first phase, said a senior official.
