The Hyderabad Police has booked local Tablighi Jamaat leader Mohammed Ikram Ali after foreigners were given shelter at the local office despite the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the state. Around 30-40 people including foreigners were given shelter at Mallepally Markaz (Telangana Headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat) violating the government orders. The Habeeb Nagar police earlier this month had shifted nine members of Jamaat including its president, Mohammed Ikram Ali, to a government hospital for quarantine. In a surgery lasting over seven hours, doctors at the Chandigarh’s PGIMER reattached a 50-year-old ASI’s hand chopped off in an attack by a group of armed men in Punb’s Patiala on Sunday, officials said. Seventee Jamaatis have been sent to jail after their quarantine period ended on Sunday. After the quarantine period ended, they were presented before the magistrate and then sent to jail. They were found guilty of violating visa and passport norms and all of them belong to Indonesia and Thailand.
