Several people including few fire fighters are reported to be trapped inside a factory at Udoh Nagar area of Peeragarhi, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said here on Thursday. According to the DFS chief Atul Garg, “A call for fire in a factory was received at 4.23 a.m. on Thursday, accordingly, 7 fire tenders were sent to the spot. The Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday said the states would have to implement the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. A day after Kerala Assembly passed a resolution seeking withdrawal of the citizenship law, Prasad said there is no escape from the implementation of the law, and emphasised such a procedure is against the Constitution. “I want to gently remind these parties (who oppose the law), to seek proper legal advice. The process of counting of votes polled in the two-phased rural local bodies held on December 27 and 30 in Tamil Nadu began on Thursday morning. Tight security has been deployed at the 315 counting centres across the state. The elections for the rural local bodies were held in two phases in 27 districts, barring the nine newly carved ones in line with the apex court’s order.
