India beat England by seven wickets in the first warm-up match of the Men’s Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in Dubai last night. Batting first, England scored 188 runs for five wickets. Jonny Bairstow scored 49 off 36 balls while Moeen Ali remained unbeaten on 43 off 20 balls. Mohammed Shami took three wickets for India. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation-DGCA has extended the ban on regular international commercial passenger flights till October 31. The DGCA circular states that these restrictions will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the Directorate General. The aviation regulator said regular international flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on the merits of the case. The Center had banned international flights on March 23 last year to contain the spread of Kovid. Later India is also operating Vande Bharat flights with many countries.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George has said that efforts have been intensified to trace the source of Nipah virus. He said that the next week is crucial for the state in view of the outbreak of Nipah. Health experts have said that there is nothing to panic about Nipah. To trace the source of this virus, the Animal Welfare Department has started the work of collecting samples at Chathamangalam in Koyikode district where the virus was confirmed. Meanwhile, efforts are on to find out Nipah preventive measures at Koyikode Medical College.
The Government of India has announced that now Afghan citizens will be able to travel to India only through e-Visa. This decision has been taken in view of the current situation in Afghanistan. There are reports that some Afghan nationals have lost their passports. In view of this the visas already issued to Afghan nationals who are not presently in India have been revoked with immediate effect. Afghan citizens desirous of traveling to India can apply for e-Visa at www.indianvisaonline.gov.in
In Afghanistan, the Taliban has announced that it will no longer allow Afghan citizens to leave the country. The road leading to Kabul airport has been closed for Afghan citizens. Mujahid said that these days a large number of Afghan citizens are gathering at Kabul airport. He instructed such people to return to their homes and said that they would not face any kind of violence from the Taliban. Meanwhile, the Taliban has refused to extend the US deadline for withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The Union Cabinet has increased the remunerative price of sugarcane to two hundred and ninety rupees per quintal, which is the most reasonable and highest price ever.
