In Himachal Pradesh, 22 people have died due to landslides and floods following heavy rains. Twelve people have been injured and six are missing in rain-related incidents. Chakki Rail Bridge in Kangra district was destroyed in flood yesterday.
State Disaster Management Department director Sudesh Kumar Mokta said that Mandi, Kangra and Chamba districts have been the most affected. Search is on for the missing people. More than forty houses have been damaged. The administration is making arrangements for food and accommodation for the disaster-affected families.
Meanwhile, over one hundred rural connectivity roads have been blocked due to landslides in the state. Heavy rains have also caused a lot of damage in Tehri and Pauri, which is being assessed by the administration.
