Ankit Singh of Dumka district of Jharkhand finally lost the battle of life after five days. The girl was sleeping in her house. The window of the house was open. The accused reached the girl’s house. He sprinkled petrol on the girl from the window and set the girl on fire with a match. When the girl raised an alarm, people came from the house. Somehow extinguished the fire and took it to the hospital. The girl was a student of class 12th. The family members alleged that the accused was harassing Ankita for the last few days. Ankita did not want to talk to him. On which the accused had threatened to kill him. After which he carried out this incident.
BJP is besieging the government on this issue. Union Minister Arjun Munda has demanded capital punishment for the accused. No MLA from power came to meet him. I liked having a picnic in Khunti, but no one considered it necessary to take care of the daughter. The state government should set up a fast track court and give death penalty to the killer.
The news of Ankita’s death has spread like wild fire across the state. Protests against the incident have started everywhere. Rallies are being taken out to demand the death penalty for the accused. After treatment in Dumka, Ankita was referred to RIMS in critical condition. After the incident, the police arrested the accused youth.
