Anshu Malik has created history by winning a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championships. She has become the first Indian female player to achieve this feat. In Oslo, Norway, she missed out on the gold medal after losing 4–1 in the final to Olympic medalist Helen Maroulis.

In the same championship yesterday, Sarita Mor also created history by winning bronze medal. Sarita defeated Sarah Lindborg 8-2 in the 59kg category. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur has appreciated wrestler Anshu Malik.
