BCCI doubles pension of former cricketers

The ICA on Tuesday thanked the BCCI for increasing the pension of retired umpires along with former Test and first-class cricketers.

BCCI has doubled the pension of former first-class and Test cricketers. Till now, the pension of cricketers whose pension was Rs 15,000 has been increased to Rs 30,000. Similarly, the pension of Rs 37,500 has been increased to Rs 60,000. Those who got pension of Rs 50,000 till now will now get Rs 70,000.

The ICA said in a statement, “The announcement made by BCCI yesterday has been welcomed by our members. Many cricketers have benefited from this move by the Board amid rising global prices and declining interest income.
