PM Modi flagged off West Bengal campaign today by slamming Mamata Banerjee and pledging a ‘Sonar Bangla, if the BJP were voted into office. He attacked Mamata because he supposedly let down the people who had expected it much.

“For Pariborton, Bengal trusted Didi. She broke trust,” he said at a mega rally in Kolkata. “Sonar Bangla’s dream will come true. Today’s meeting, I am here today to ensure the prosperity of Bengal, to increase investment here, to protect the culture of Bengal and bring change.”

“I came to make you believe in ‘Asol Poribortan,’ the growth of Bengal, the change in the situation in Bengal and the growing investment and factories in Bengal and the rebuilding of Bengal,” he said.

The PM states that the next 25 years are very critical for state growth. West Bengal is again leading India, he promised, in 2047, as India celebrates 100 years of independence.

The form of democracy was supposedly undermined by the military, and the BJP would consolidate it. He has vowed to restore popular confidence in democracy, police and administration processes.

He continued to criticize Mrs Banerjee on repeated claims of nepotism and domination by the establishment. “You have been selected by the people of Bengal as “Didi,” so why have you been the nephew’s aunt? The Bengali people just ask you this one question, “He asked about matters in the province, hinting at Abhishek Banerjee’s suspected stranglehold.

PM Modi used the favoured mantra of Trinamool to highlight the growing cases of abuse. “The state of Maa, Manush, Maati is well known to you. On the streets and in their homes, mums are targeted. The cruelty of an 80-year-old mother has recently showed the whole world, its cruel face, said the PM.
