BJP today questioned Opposition in what it termed as selective silence of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party over the violent clashes in Delhi. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar addressing media said that rather than consolidated efforts towards peace both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are trying to politicise the act of violence.

He questioned the silence of both the parties over the issue of death of police personnel and attack on police and media persons. Mr. Javadekar criticised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over identification of victims in the clash by religion and said that AAP MLAs should have worked for peace rather than inciting violence.

Taking a jibe at Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Javadekar said that a vicious attempt to instigate violence was allegedly hatched from around two months referring to her call of fight to finish in a rally in December last year.

Reiterating that the Citizenship Amendment Act does not take away the citizenship of any person in the country, Union Minister informed that law and order situation in Delhi is under control. He also said police has fast-tracked its investigation in the matter and the culprits will soon be identified.
