The CBI has asked former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik to answer certain questions in connection with the alleged insurance scam in the Union Territory. Officials gave this information on Friday. This is the second time in seven months that Malik will be questioned by the CBI.
In fact, Satya Pal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and current Governor of Meghalaya, had claimed that he was offered a bribe of Rs 300 crore when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The offer was to be made in lieu of clearing two files on ‘Ambani’ and ‘person affiliated with RSS’, but he called off the deal. Along with this, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that at that time the PM had told him not to compromise with corruption. The Jammu and Kashmir administration had recommended to the central government to get his claim investigated by the CBI. Which has now been approved by the Central Government.
Satyapal Malik had said, ‘After going to Kashmir, two files came to me. One was Ambani’s file and the other was of a person associated with the RSS who was a minister in the previous coalition government of Mehbooba Mufti and BJP. He was also very close to PM Modi. I was informed by the secretaries that there was a scam in it and then I canceled both the deals in turn. The secretaries told me that Rs 150 crore each would be given for both the files. But, I told them that I have come with five kurta-pyjama and will leave with only that.
