CM Rekha Gupta will present the CAG report on air pollution in Delhi on Tuesday

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will present a new report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in the Assembly on April 1. This report will present details of the Delhi government’s efforts to prevent and mitigate vehicular air pollution and the expenditure incurred on them. This report is the second report of the year 2022, which relates to the financial year ended on March 31, 2021. The report will be available in both Hindi and English languages.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has already presented three CAG reports in the House, which were related to the earlier policies and schemes of the Delhi government. These included reports related to Delhi’s liquor policy, expenditure of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and expenditure on the health sector.

The present report will review the steps taken by the government to control air pollution and their financial aspects. The agenda and other discussions included in the report to be presented in the assembly will also include many other topics.

The session of the Vidhan Sabha will begin at 2 pm on April 1. According to the agenda, the proceedings of the House will begin with a special mention, in which the honourable members can raise various issues. After this, the Chief Minister will table the CAG report in the House. Under the short-term discussion in the House, the discussion will continue on the water crisis in Delhi, waterlogging, sewerage problem and cleaning of drains.

Air pollution is a serious problem in Delhi, especially during the winter months. The Delhi government has launched several schemes to control it, such as promoting electric vehicles, strengthening public transport and strictly enforcing pollution control rules. The CAG report will present details of the expenditure incurred on these schemes and their effectiveness.
