COVID-19: 1,661 recovered patients discharged on Chinese mainland

With the deadly outbreak of Coronavirus which has shook the entire globe, the latest updates show that in total, 57,065 patients had been discharged from hospital by the end of Saturday.

A total of 1,661 patients of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were discharged from hospital after recovery on Saturday on the Chinese mainland, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

In total, 57,065 patients had been discharged from hospital by the end of Saturday, the commission said in its daily report.

By the end of Saturday, a total of 80,695 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 had been reported on the mainland, and 3,097 people had died of the disease, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Over 7,26,122 passengers from 7,108 flights have been screened at airports. Between Friday morning and Saturday, 73,766 passengers from 573 flights have been screened.

Fifty-two laboratories for testing novel coronavirus are now operational across the country. An additional 57 labs have been provided with Viral Transport Media and swabs for sample collection, the ministry said.

In order to spread awareness among the masses, special COVID-19 mobile phone caller tune was launched by all telecom operators with basic infection prevention messages played when a caller dials a number.
