Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who tested positive for Covid-19 two days ago, has been shifted to Saket Max Hospital in New Delhi where he will be given the plasma therapy. Satyendar Jain’s health worsened today morning, following which he was put on oxygen support.

On Tuesday, Satyendar Jain was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital and later shifted to Max Hospital in Saket, New Delhi. He was shifted because Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital has not been approved to conduct plasma therapy.
Initially, Jain had high fever and was suffering a sudden drop in oxygen level. The 55-year-old leader’s test result came positive on Wednesday evening after a second test. He has now developed pneumonia and his breathing difficulties have aggravated further.

Satyendar Jain’s latest CT scan shows a patch in his lungs has increased significantly and may lead to complications. He was shifted to Saket Max on the insistence of his family.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet said he wishes Jain a speedy recovery. “Praying for the speedy recovery of Satyendar Jain, Health Minister of Delhi, who is battling with Covid-19 infection.”

Satyendar Jain will remain a cabinet minister in the Delhi government but without any portfolio until he recovers. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been given the charge of health, public works department, power and other departments.
