Delhi reports highest daily spike with 17,282 new cases, 104 deaths

Delhi reported the highest daily spike with 17,282 new cases and 104 deaths. With this surge, Union Ministry of Education had even cancelled CBSE board exams for Class 10 and postponed Class 12 board examinations.

Asserting the government’s commitment to ensuring adequate availability of Covid-19 vaccines, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on Wednesday for harnessing the combined power of community groups, political parties, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

With a virtual meet with the governors and lieutenant governors of all states and union territories, PM Modi requested all of the them to actively involve in ensuring that social institutions collaborate seamlessly with state governments.

With a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi government issued an order on Wednesday to increase the number of beds reserved for Covid-19 patients at its hospitals and to attach banquet halls and hotels to these facilities.
