Tamil Nadu witnessed yet another tragedy when at least seven people were killed in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu on Friday. Initial reports say that the fireworks factory unit owner has also died in the explosion.
The incident happened at Kurungudi village in Kattumannarkoil, police said.
Four people were reportedly injured in the blast that completely damaged the building, they added.
The incident that took place in Kattumannarkoil saw the entire fireworks unit collapsing following a blast. A few workers are reportedly stuck under the debris.
Police officials have reached the spot and an investigation is underway. The fire safety team is also working to control the fire and rescue those believed to be stuck.
