The services of social media platforms Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were disrupted for several hours across the world last night.
All three Facebook-owned services did not run on web or smartphone apps.
These services on social media came to a standstill at around 9 pm Indian time.
A Facebook spokesperson said that we are aware that people have experienced problems using Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram apps. The spokesperson also apologized for the inconvenience. The company did not specify the reason for the worldwide suspension of services.
