Fighting continues in Afghanistan’s Panjshir province between Taliban fighters and resistance forces led by Ahmed Masood. The Taliban have confirmed that both sides have suffered damage in the two-day fighting.
The Ahmed Masood group has said they have driven back the Taliban in Panjshir and that many of its fighters have been killed. The Taliban denied the attack on Panjshir, saying its faction was attacked by Masood supporters and they have only retaliated with the attack. Meanwhile, Taliban leader Amir Khan Muttaki has said that talks between the two factions have yielded no results.
