Ghulam Nabi Azad has today resigned from all posts including the primary membership of the Congress Party. In a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Azad said that he has decided to break the five-decade-old ties with the Congress with a heavy heart. Azad said that the party leadership should have started the Party Jodo campaign before the Bharat Jodo campaign. He further said that the Congress has lost the will and ability to patronize the troupe that runs the party.
Azad said 23 leaders who spoke about weaknesses in the Congress were abused, humiliated and defamed. The situation in Congress has reached a point from where there can be no return. Proxy is being used to take over the leadership of the party.
“Unfortunately after the entry of Rahul Gandhi into politics and especially after January 2013 when he was elected as the Vice President. Rahul Gandhi had destroyed the already existing consultancy machinery in the party.
