Historic Milestone: First Female NDA Batch Among 231 Cadets Commissioned Into IAF

HYDERABAD: A historic chapter unfolded in Indian military history today, showcasing the rising prowess of women in combat roles and strengthening the country’s national defense framework. During a spectacular Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal near Hyderabad, a total of 231 flight cadets, including the historic first batch of women from the National Defence Academy (NDA), were formally commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the parade and conferred the prestigious ‘President’s Commission’ upon the newly minted officers.

The parade ground resonated with the high energy and discipline of the young officers, which included pilots and ground duty technicians. Notably, the trailblazing female cadets from the NDA have successfully secured slots across vital fighter and technical streams. Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Rajnath Singh emphasized that a rising India under the ‘Nation First’ banner will maintain a hardline approach toward territorial sovereignty. He hailed the entry of the female NDA batch as a strict and exemplary model of gender equality and military modernization.

This landmark accomplishment delivers a swift blow to pseudo-experts and leftist syndicates who historically opposed the integration of women into core combat arms, arguing it would impact operational readiness. Supported by the Modi government’s ‘Zero Compromise’ mandate, India’s daughters are now operating cutting-edge platforms like Rafale and Sukhoi jets to keep adversaries at bay. The induction of these 231 highly trained officers drastically boosts the IAF’s operational bench strength, adding serious strategic depth against cross-border threats.
