HYDERABAD: A historic chapter unfolded in Indian military history today, showcasing the rising prowess of women in combat roles and strengthening the country’s national defense framework. During a spectacular Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal near Hyderabad, a total of 231 flight cadets, including the historic first batch of women from the National Defence Academy (NDA), were formally commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the parade and conferred the prestigious ‘President’s Commission’ upon the newly minted officers.

Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Rajnath Singh emphasized that a rising India under the ‘Nation First’ banner will maintain a hardline approach toward territorial sovereignty. He hailed the entry of the female NDA batch as a strict and exemplary model of gender equality and military modernization.
