Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in the Tis Hazari Court complex on Tuesday. She informed that 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being inaugurated simultaneously in Delhi.
Chief Minister Gupta criticized the Mohalla Clinic scheme of the previous government, saying that it was completely plagued with irregularities, with neither proper care nor adequate medicines. He questioned the system of payment at the rate of Rs 40 per patient in these clinics set up in unhygienic places.
PWD Minister Pravesh Verma inaugurated another Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Babar Road Dispensary. He said that these centers will provide free treatment, medicines, physiotherapy and wellness center facilities, so that citizens will not have to depend on big hospitals for common health problems.
MP Manoj Tiwari inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Yamuna Vihar, and Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Khajuri Khas. Both the leaders mentioned the comprehensive facilities of these new centres.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, 1139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been set up in Delhi at a cost of Rs 2406 crore. 33 dispensaries of the Delhi government, municipal corporation and NDMC have been developed as these centers. The program was originally scheduled to be held on June 14, but was postponed due to the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Today, all the Cabinet Ministers of Delhi will inaugurate these centres in their respective constituencies, which will further expand the reach of healthcare services in the national capital.
