Top leaders from 20 countries across the world will participate in the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this summit will be a landmark event for global cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is also the first global AI summit to be held in the Global South.
The summit will be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Swiss President Guy Parmelin, Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof and Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates.
Apart from this, Prime Minister of Mauritius Dr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam, President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumar Dissanayake, Vice President of Seychelles Sebastian Pillay and Prime Minister of Bhutan Sherin Tobgay will also participate in the conference.
The Foreign Ministry said that representatives from several other countries, including Bolivia, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Guyana, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Serbia, and Slovakia, will also be present at the summit. In total, participation from more than 45 countries is expected.
The conference will also see the UN Secretary-General and senior officials from various international organisations discuss issues such as the global impact of AI, ethics, inclusive development and policy-making.
The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 aims to expand AI beyond just a technical topic, but to connect it with development, governance, economics, and social impact. Experts believe this summit will not only place India at the center of the global AI debate but also strengthen the voices of emerging and developing countries on the international stage.
