India crosses 0ne lakh coronavirus cases

India has reported 4041 fresh cases of COVID-19 making the total number of people infected cross the one lakh mark.

With Maharashtra having the maximum number of COVID-19 cases, it has topped with 35,058 cases. The Health ministry released the latest date showing Tamilnadu has an ovrall tally of 11,760 cases. Whereas Maharashtra has 2,033 fresh new cases in the last 24 hours.

With the lockdown extended till May 31, there are modifications in terms of relaxation. Many of the public transport system like autos, taxis, cabs, and buses have been given permission to operate with restrictions.

With Delhi following the odd-even norm of opening standalone shops, the essential services shops can remain open all days.

The centre in its lockdown 4.0 guidelines has left it to the states to take a final call to decide on activities with colour coding the zones.

India saw biggest spike with the 5,242 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to 1,00,210.

Other major states where new cases were reported today are: Madhya Pradesh (259 cases), West Bengal (148 cases), Bihar (161 cases), Karnataka (99 cases), Odisha (48 cases), Telangana (41 cases), Kerala (29 cases) and Punjab (16 cases).
