The Ministry of External Affairs has said that India is closely monitoring the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan. The ministry said that its impact on the safety and security of Indian citizens there is also being monitored.
External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told reporters that the Indian Embassy in Kabul and Consulates in Kandahar and Majer-e-Sharif are functional. He said that India’s response on this would be according to the situation.
