India refutes Pakistan’s claims of winning the war

India has rejected Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s claims of victory in the war, saying he can rejoice in the damaged air force base and burned-out hangars as symbols of victory. India’s First Secretary at the United Nations, Petal Gahlot, clarified that India will not succumb to nuclear blackmail and will continue to take action against terrorists and their sponsors.

Gehlot described Pakistan’s foreign policy as terrorism-centric and said recent developments confirm Islamabad’s sponsorship of terrorism. He noted that on April 25, in the Security Council, Pakistan defended The Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist organization responsible for killing tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Regarding the end of the conflict, Gehlot explained that until May 9, Pakistan was threatening to attack India, but on May 10, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations, Major General Kashif Abdullah, requested a ceasefire from Indian Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai. He clarified that during this period, the Indian Army destroyed several Pakistani airbases.

Justifying Operation Sindoor, Gehlot said India took necessary action to protect its citizens. He cited the terrorists killed at terrorist hideouts in Bahawalpur and Muridke and said the praise given to the terrorists by Pakistani officials demonstrates their intent.

On Sharif’s claim of the US President’s role in the ceasefire, Gehlot said that the issues between India and Pakistan will be resolved bilaterally, in which the role of any third party is unnecessary.
