India’s coronavirus case tally has crossed the 14 lakh-mark with most states continuing to witness a daily spike in Covid-19 infections in the country.

Over 21,000 new cases of infections were added to India’s overall tally on Sunday evening after Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka updated their tally. In Delhi, the Covid-19 recovery rate reached nearly 88 per cent on Sunday, with the AAP government now working on a detailed plan to revive the city’s lockdown-hit economy.

Meanwhile, the government is now formulating guidelines for Unlock 3.0 which will come into force from August. The Covid-19 restrictions of ‘Unlock 2.0’ end on Friday (July 31).

The new guidelines could include relaxations in reopening of cinema halls, gyms from August 1. However, schools and metro train services are likely to remain shut across the country in ‘Unlock 3.0’.
