Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested Mohammad Khalid from Manipur. A reward of one lakh was placed on him. In interrogation, he has confessed to having a secret meeting at his house before the riots. It is told that in this meeting it was decided to collect sticks, iron rods etc.
Special Commissioner of Crime Branch Ravindra Singh Yadav has said, “Mohammed Khalid was reported to be hiding in Manipur. Acting on this, he was arrested from near the Indo-Myanmar border. During interrogation, he has disclosed that in the year 2020, he along with his elder brother Mohammad Ayaz and other associates had participated in the anti-CAA and NRC protests in Delhi’s Chand Bagh area. A secret meeting was held at his house regarding the riots. In this meeting, it was decided to collect sticks and iron rods to block the road.
In this case, the police had registered a case against Mohammad Khalid at Delhi’s Dayalpur police station. He was absconding for the last 3 years. Due to his role in the riots and absconding for a long time, the police had also placed a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him. His brother Ayaz was arrested by the Delhi Police on June 21 this year. Ayaz is one of the main conspirators in the murder of head constable Ratan Lal.
