PM Modi pointed out on Saturday that J&K elections showed the transparent election process and enthusiastic participation of voters to as it is a “moment of pride” for India.

While launching a scheme virtually, Modi also hit back at Congress for giving him lessons in democracy while “not carrying out panchayat and municipal polls” in Puducherry, a UT where the opposition party is in control.

Modi also pointed out that the elections were held after a year it became a a union territory.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi, without naming him he said, some people in Delhi offered him lessons in democracy day in and day out, and use “abuses” for him, but they have not carried out panchayat polls in Puducherry despite a Supreme Court order.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi declared that there is “no democracy” in India in a recent assault on the Modi government on the protest of farmers against the three new agri-laws. District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir have seen people winning due to their jobs and not names, the prime minister said.

The Centre has pursued all-round growth of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

Modi said that the big mistake of those who have been in power in the country for decades was to neglect the creation of frontier areas, like Jammu and Kashmir and the northeastern states, but his government has rectified this.
