A Pakistani anti-terror court has sentenced Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the Mumbai terror attack, to 31 years in prison. The court has also ordered confiscation of all his assets. Terrorist group Jamaat-ud-Dawa’s leader Hafiz Saeed has also been fined three lakh forty thousand Pakistani rupees. The punishment has been given on two FIRs registered by the Anti-Terrorism Department of the Punjab Police of Pakistan.
Hafiz Saeed was brought to court from Kot Lakhpat Jail. He is in this jail since 2019.
Jamaat-ud-Dawa is a special faction of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. One hundred and 66 people, including six American citizens, were killed in this attack.
