NSW Senator calls RSS & VHP Neo Nazis, Hindu Council demands an end to Hinduphobia and hate attacks

Hate speeches and anti-Hindu remarks have taken over by Australian senator recently causing a lot of harm to Hindus around the world. David Shoebridge, a senator from New South Wales, Australia, recently caused a debate after calling the RSS and the VHP ‘Neo Nazis.’ During a meeting with State Senator Geoff Lee, Acting Minister for Recreation, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans on 5 March, the Senator made remarks.

“How did Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a right-wing Hindu organization deemed by the CIA to be a militant terrorist religious organization, find themselves in public schools in New South Wales?” Shoebridge has asked. “These neo-Nazi gangs are on the government radar, and if so, what’s going to be done with it,” he said.

David Shoebridge went on to say, “The most recent assault I’ve learnt, which was once again in Harris Park and again as recently as Sunday night, was where four young men from the Sikh community were celebrating. In reality, they got a new car, and then they broke it. They were stopped in the street, and it was broken. In the midst of the attack, I recognize that the attackers established the purpose they were crushing because the inhabitants were from the Sikh group. And it came from a political radical far-right position.”

“I have not seen a single indication of a violent act emanating from any segment of the Indian community’s political spectrum other than the radical, right-wing Hindu nationalist part of the community,” he said.

David Shoebridge, here, seems to be oblivious of the recent experience of Harris Park crime. There was a major brawl between Haryanvis and Khalistanis in August 2020 as a result of the escalation of the TikTok war.

One thing led to another, and then there were two parties at Harris Park, hammering and tongs at each other. The key suspect behind the altercation was suspected to be one Khalistani named Jassi, and group figures from both sides came forward to de-escalate the matter.

The details of the latest case of aggression remain unknown and the attackers are stated to have not yet been found. The police suspect, however, that it is related to the farmers’ protests in India. Given that two Sikh youths were allegedly arrested the last time around, the obvious thing to do here is to wait until the investigation of the matter is complete. But David Shoebridge is obviously too impatient for that.

Hindu groups in Australia have now released a statement condemning the comments of the NSW Senator. The Hindu Council of Australia said, “The latest unprovoked Hindu-led attacks are based on phantom allegations against the Australian Hindu community, such as caste-based di.

“These phantom imputations have facilitated overt attacks, using derogatory words, against numerous Hindus across Australia on social media, threatening letters from a foreign terrorist group to community members who are intimidating the community,” he said.

Condemning Shoebridge’s “baseless accusations” of Hindu bigotry in Australia, the Hindu Council of Australia called for facts to be created before them so that, as a group, Hindus could take appropriate action against them. The statement also called on the government and related authorities to bring an end to Hinduphobia and hate crimes.

Shoebridge had taken part in a demonstration in support of farmers’ protests in India, and a video of the same was posted to Pieter Friedrich’s YouTube page, an individual who had appeared in the Greta toolkit, which revealed a global conspiracy against India.
