India’s name has once again been etched in the annals of history, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieving another milestone. Guyana and Barbados have announced a grand gesture in his honor. Both countries have declared their intention to bestow upon him their highest national awards. This brings the total number of international awards received by PM Modi to 19.

Guyana will present him with the “Order of Excellence”, while Barbados will honor him with the “Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados.” Meanwhile, PM Modi has arrived in Guyana for his visit. He took to Twitter to express his gratitude to President Dr. Irfaan Ali and Prime Minister Mark Anthony Phillips for their warm welcome in Guyana.

The Nigerian President stated, “I shall today confer on you (India’s Prime Minister), the National Honor of Nigeria, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger. This signifies Nigeria’s appreciation and commitment to our partnership with India.” The Prime Minister is the second foreign dignitary to receive the GCON, an honor that was first bestowed upon Queen Elizabeth II in 1969.
