PM takes homegrown ‘Covaxin’ shot, sends message of self-reliant India to the world

Making a strong statement on his initiative of ‘Atmanirbharata’ PM Narendra Modi today took the home-grown ‘Covaxin’ by Bharat Biotech. Taking the homegrown ‘Covaxin’, PM sent across the self-reliant India message to the world. As the second phase of vaccination commences today that includes persons above 60 years of age, PM Modi took his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS.

India’s vaccination drive’s second phase was launched at the All India Medical Science Institute by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by taking the vaccination’s first dose as the first person to lead in this mission to ward of the coronavirus.

The prime minister appealed to the countrymen who are sixty plus to go forward and take the vaccine jab as it will help in keeping the virus at bay. all those who are eligible for vaccination to take the vaccine and contribute in making India Covid-free.

“I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!” he added.

Giving information on the vaccine, the Minister for Health has said that Indians can register and book vaccine appointments, anytime and everywhere, by using the COWIN 2.0 portal, or other IT applications, such as Arogya Setu, etc.

As soon he had the vaccine’s first dose, PM tweeted which consisted of a photo of him taking the first jab with Sister Niveda injecting hi with Bharat Biotech’s vaccine. He can be seen wearing a gamcha, the traditional cloth of Assam.

The vaccines that are supplied to beneficiaries at the Government Health Facilities will not be charged for it, while Private Facilities cannot charge the beneficiary a sum above Rs. 250 per person per dose (Rs 150/- for vaccines and Rs 100/- as operational charges)
