Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that India’s past and present is incomplete without tribal society and the country is indebted to the sacrifices of tribal society. Addressing the ‘Gaurav Saga of Mangarh Dham’ program at Mangarh Dham near Banswara in Rajasthan, Modi said, “India’s past, India’s history, India’s present and India’s future are not complete without tribal society.” ‘

The Prime Minister said that from the beginning of slavery till the 20th century, there was no such period when tribal society did not take command of the freedom struggle. The tribals in Rajasthan stood with full force with Maharana Pratap. Modi said that special museums dedicated to tribal freedom fighters are being built to take the history and sacrifices of tribal society to the masses.

Modi said that Mangarh Dham is a symbol of sacrifice, penance and patriotism of tribal heroes. Remembering freedom fighter Govind Guru, who led the tribals in the freedom struggle, the Prime Minister said that Govind Guru lost his family, but did not give up. He said that Govind Guru was not only a freedom fighter but also a saint and social reformer.

The Prime Minister said that the governments of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra should jointly develop Mangarh Dham in such a way that this place can become a place of inspiration for the new generation.
