Delhi Police has beefed up security in view of the farmers’ protest at Jantar Mantar. A three-km-long traffic jam occurred on the Delhi-Ghazipur border. Security has also been beefed up at Singhu and Tikri borders. Section 144 has been imposed in New Delhi area.
United Kisan Morcha has called for Mahapanchayat today. Farmers from different states are likely to come in this. However, the Delhi Police has said that it has not given permission for the protest.
In fact, the farmers’ organizations involved in the United Kisan Morcha say that even after making promises, the demands of the farmers have not been accepted yet. Farmer organizations say that the MSP guarantee law should be made. Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni should be arrested. The rules of 2022 should be canceled regarding the electricity bill of farmers. Support price of sugarcane should be increased.
