An ex-Indian Navy officer was brutally attacked by Shiv Sena goons in Maharashtra on Friday for sharing a cartoon on WhatsApp. The injured ex-officer confirmed that he was brutalised for sharing a cartoon on WhatsApp on Uddhav Thackeray. A complaint filed has been filed and an FIR has been registered regarding the matter. The veteran confirmed that he was brutalised for sharing the WhatsApp forward. What was shocking is that the police came to arrest him.

Shiv Sena workers for beating up a retired Navy officer for sharing a cartoon on CM Uddhav Thackeray. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar has alleged that retired Navy officer Madan Sharma was beaten up by Sena workers for forwarding a cartoon that mocked CM Uddhav Thackeray.

The MLA shared a video that shows six goons barging inside a residential property. They drag Madan Sharma out by the collar and can be seen slapping him in the face multiple times.

“The ruling Shiv Sena, which sabotaged Kangana Ranaut’s office, has now seriously injured the eye of an elderly former naval officer Madan Sharma by beating him up. The chief minister is running a dictatorship,” BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar said in his tweet.

The victim has filed an FIR in the matter at the Samta Nagar Police Station in Kandivali. Additional Commissioner North Region Dilip Sawant has said that the action will be taken against those responsible for the attack.

Reacting on the incident, BJP leader and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis expressed his shock and asked CM Thackeray to stop the ‘gundaraj’.

“Extremely sad & shocking incident. Retired Naval Officer got beaten up by goons because of just a Whatsapp forward. Please stop this gundaRaj Hon Uddhav Thackeray ji. We demand strong action and punishment to these goons,” Devendra Fadnavis tweeted.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya demanded strong action against the goons or else, he said he will stage a dharna outside the Kandivali East Police Station.

Actor Kangana Ranaut, who is currently embroiled in a war with Shiv Sena also retweeted the video of the incident with the caption: Shame.
