Statehood will be restored in J&K after elections: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will get absolute majority in the Tripura Assembly elections. In an interview with a news agency, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is seeking mandate to make the state prosperous in the next five years. He said that the government under the leadership of the party has taken several initiatives for development.

Shah said that the BJP’s slogan ‘Chalo Paltai’ in the last election was not just a slogan to come to power, but it was given to change the situation in Tripura. He said that the Congress and the Communist Party of India-Marxist have joined hands, which shows that they are not in a position to defeat the BJP alone. Shah said that the BJP will increase its seats and votes in the upcoming assembly elections.

Speaking about the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said that he has clearly stated that the statehood will be restored after the elections. He also said that the process of preparation of electoral rolls in Jammu and Kashmir is nearing completion and the Election Commission will take a decision on holding elections there. On Article-370, Mr. Shah said that since 1950 it was on our agenda that Jammu and Kashmir has to remove 370. He said that after its removal, there has been a spurt in development works in the State and there has been a significant reduction in terrorist activities.
