Protests continue in the streets after the military coup in Sudan. In the capital Khartoum, protesters blocked roads raising anti-military slogans.
General Abdel Fattah Burhan, who led the coup, dismissed the government yesterday and imposed a state of emergency by arresting political leaders. Ten people have died in soldiers firing on the protesting crowd.
The United Nations Security Council will discuss the Sudan crisis today. International flights have been suspended with Khartoum’s airport closed. Internet and phone lines have also been snapped.
