There was no lapse in the security of “Bharat Jodo Yatra”: J&K Police

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said there was no lapse in the security of the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” and the organizers had not even informed the police about a large number of people joining the padyatra from Banihal.

Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police and in-charge of security in the Kashmir Valley, said in a statement, “J&K Police was not consulted before postponing the Bharat Jodo Yatra. We will provide full security for the yatra. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on the advice of his security personnel that police arrangements during the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district collapsed today. canceled the trip.

Police said the crowd was allowed to move towards the route of the yatra only after checking and checking authorized people identified by the organisers. The yatra organizers and managers had not given any information about large number of people joining the yatra from Banihal.
