Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Delhi’s premier All India Institutes of Medical Sciences.

Wearing a gamcha from Assam which is symbolic of blessings from the Assamese women, PM Modi set out to AIIMS in the early hours today. He took COVAXIN (Bharat BioTech) shot by Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry. The second nurse is from Kerala.

Taking my first dose of AIIMS COVID-19. A remarkable way to improve the global battle against COVID-19 is in the fast functioning of our doctors and scientists. I would like to talk to anyone who can take the vaccine. Let’s make India COVID-19 open!” he tweeted with a shot image of him.

From March 1, the slots will be open from 9 am till 3 pm for vaccinations and the appointments can be booked anytime before 3 pm, subject to availability.
